Sign up to host a screening of the film Poisoning Paradise! Organizers will provide the access code to watch the film in an email along with safe gathering recommendations and post-film discussion items. We'll also be in touch with ways to view the series of panel discussions that will explore how Big Food is situated within a longer colonial history of extractive practices that have severed Indigenous relationships of reciprocity with land and natural resources, and uplift the work of community leaders and food sovereignty activists charting vital paths forward.
The Poisoning Paradise film festival is being co-hosted by Uprooted & Rising (UNR), Herbicide-Free Campus (HFC), and the Hawai'i Alliance for Progressive Action (HAPA)! Learn more about this project here:

More about the film:
Poisoning Paradise explores the story of a small community on Kaua'i pushing back against the agrochemical industry. While Hawai’i is portrayed as a paradise, it is ground zero for the testing of experimental pesticides and for the development of herbicide resistant seeds for export - with devastating health and environmental impacts.
About Uprooted & Rising (UNR)
UNR is a network of campus-based groups (pods) and community-based networks (branches) organizing local and national campaigns led by people who have been historical marginalized in our food system. Our goal is to end higher education's support for Big Food and white supremacy in the food systems and direct the energy of our generation towards food sovereignty!
About Herbicide-Free Campus (HFC)
Herbicide-Free Campus envisions a toxin-free world created by student action. Our mission is to empower the next generation of environmental leaders to create safer, more sustainable living and learning environments for all by starting locally and advocating for organic land care on their campuses.
